I'm on a mission to get community parklets in Islington. In fact I'm on several missions -   Low Traffic Neighbourhoods.  Active travel. Clean air. Fewer cars.  And much more greenery, trees and wildlife.  I set up #inspiringsustainableislington which encourages community and council to work together for the benefit of everyone by taking more care of our environment. Come and learn how you can assess the health of your neighbourhood streets and how healthy streets mitigate climate change.

The <a href="https://www.healthystreetsscorecard.london" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Healthy Streets Scorecard</a> utilises 5 key indicators to measure the health of streets within each borough of London. These are: <ul><li>low traffic neighbourhoods</li><li>20 mph speed limits</li><li>controlled parking zones</li><li> physically protected cycle track</li><li> school provision</li></ul>All of these measures are equally beneficial in providing a healthy environment for London’s residents and at the same time, contribute to climate change mitigation. The result of meeting these measures are beautiful, welcoming, health-promoting public streets that serve all of us! Our speakers, Divya Sharma from the<a href="https://lcc.org.uk/campaigns" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Climate Safe Streets</a> campaign, and Will Petty from the<a href="https://www.healthystreetsscorecard.london/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Healthy Streets Scorecard coalition</a> will explain how to identify a healthy street and facilitate break-out group discussions of how to make your favourite Islington streets healthier. This webinar is part of a series curated by <a href="https://islingtoncleanairparents.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Islington Clean Air Parents</a> and <a href="https://inspiringsustainableislington.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">InspiringSustainableIslington</a>.
