Undressed - Fashion Revolution Week 2022

A festival unravelling our relationship with clothing. Join us for a week of events, displays and one big clothing swap that lasts 4 days. The opening event, Clothing Swap Soiree, is ticketed and all other events are free.

Undressed Fest is Part of Fashion Revolution Week, hosted by <a href="https://www.sewingcafelancaster.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sewing Cafe Lancaster</a>Together we will watch Dr Janine Morley&#x27;s presentation of Watts to Wear, with break out discussions. Hosted by Dr Rebecca Whittle, Senior Lecturer at the Lancaster Environment Centre and a Sewing Cafe Lancaster collaborator. &quot;What you choose to wear impacts domestic energy consumption, and how to get the most of the clothes you already own. Domestic energy consumption for heating is a high use of UK Carbon emissions, and the decarbonisation of heat is arguably the biggest challenge facing UK energy policy over the next decades. Whilst switching homes to alternative sources of heat is very much needed, there is also a need for consumer understanding of how what they wear whilst at home can lower heating use.&quot; Dr Morley is inspired by theories of technological and social change, which she applies and develops in relation to sustainability, digital technologies and data in everyday life. Much of her work is interdisciplinary and collaborative, and involves a combination of methods, including fine-grained energy and environmental sensor data, interviews and diaries.
