The Maison Française is a French institution associated to the University of Oxford. It supports the special link between the French and British academic worlds.

This conference aims to shed further light, twenty years later, on the links between history, historians, and Bourdieu’s scientific legacy.

His work continues to be highly influential, as evidenced by an ongoing editorial activity and the international dissemination of his writings. While Bourdieu left his mark on many intellectual areas through the breadth of his theories, he established a privileged dialogue with history as a discipline.
