Secret Gardens and Sacred Places

Dilettanti was founded by Sarah Bowles and Philippa Barton in 1980 to encourage the study and the enjoyment of the arts. The programme of events is made up of full and half days of visits, often combining  background lectures by expert speakers, which provide a context to the particular subject.

An architectural  and historical walk  with Pamela McHutchon

Monument Underground Station

<p><strong>Pamela McHutchon </strong>will  lead this walk exploring some of the romantic and little-known spaces in the City of London, including the delightful gardens within the ruins of St Dunstan in the East and St Mary Aldermanbury,  monuments and memorials such as the Gilt of Cain Monument in Fen Court and churches  contrasting architectural splendour with medieval atmosphere. The walk will end at the Priory Church of St. Bartholomew the Great, Smithfield.</p>
