Carbon conscious specification: How to take a Balanced Approach to Design & Specification
Join our Sustainability and Design teams to explore new ways to achieve a more carbon conscious and balanced approach to materials specification. We’ll discuss the impact design choices can have on the UK’s built environment landscape. And, we’ll help you understand how these can be explored to improve the viability of specifying sustainable materials that can contribute to Net Zero and ESG.What you’ll learn:•	The truth about sustainable choices – re-thinking preconceptions about today’s building materials•	The truth about bricks – how the humble clay brick can deliver on inspiring (and sustainable) design briefs•	Embodied carbon: How bricks compare to other building materials •	The value of transparency of product information & manufacturer data•	What you can do to drive more balanced approaches to specification You’ll hear from: Irina Hughes, Design Advisor Ibstock Brick’s own Irina Hughes will introduce the event and wrap things up with a look at Ibstock’s new EcoHabitats collection. Plus, our Group Sustainability team will be on hand to add their own insights to explain how our new ESG Strategy is accelerating positive change and helping to play a part in combatting climate change through active development in both products and processes.Michael McGowan – Group Sustainability ManagerEmily Landsborough – Sustainability Advisor Event Hosted by: Ibstock’s Irina Hughes Agenda of the day:12.30pm - 1.00pm: Start & Lunch1.00pm - 1.45pm: Presentation1.45pm - 2.00pm: Q&A2.00pm - 3.00pm: Networking & CloseProud patrons of the London Festival of Architecture
