Join local artist, Sue Mills, in a live online art session to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The annual Brentwood Art Trail takes place this year between 4th and 26th June, where you'll find the work of local artists exhibited at a variety of locations in Brentwood, Ingatestone and Shenfield in venues which become pop-up art galleries especially for the event. We also organise workshops, activities and tours to coincide with the Trail.Last year, one of our biggest successes was our artist Sue Mills' online Zoom portrait workshop with schools, which was attended virtually by more than 600 children! I'm really pleased to say Sue will be delivering another schools workshop via Zoom for us in 2022, this time with a Platinum Jubilee theme. The session is FREE, and the children will be able to create a piece of artwork, with Sue's help, which they can take home and display in their windows throughout the Trail to commemorate both the Platinum Jubilee and be a part of the Brentwood Art Trail.Two Zoom sessions will run on Thursday 26th May - one at 11am, and the other at 1.30pm, so schools can choose which one works best for their timetable. If you want some year groups to attend in the morning, and others in the afternoon, that's fine. Due to the limitations on Zoom participants, each school can have eight classes participating at once. What you need:Access to Zoom per classroom and screen to watch.Each child to have several pieces of paper and pencils to draw with. Coloured pencil optional but not necessary.Please ensure you are kept on mute the whole time. You can unmute and say bye at the end!What will happen:Session will start promptly so please ensure you are logged in ready and children have all their equipment ready in front of them. Sue will introduce herself, her artwork and what the Brentwood Art Trail involves.There will be a short warm-up drawing activity. The camera will focus on what Sue is drawing so the children can follow along the step-by-step demonstration.The children will then start the main Jubilee themed drawing activity.At the end there will be time for a short Q&amp;A session - where staff can type in questions in the chat section on Zoom.Sue will also offer suggestions on follow up activities which can be done in class if desired.
