Maria is an ANFT Certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide and Coach, EcoNidra Teacher, Therapetic writing teacher, story weaving facilitator and Mindfulness/ Compassion Teacher.She is the founder of Mindful Connections where she facilitates both individual, group and private experiences to help increase balance, stillness and much needed rest.She works with public groups, 1:1 individualised coaching & mentoring and private teams to help promote  wellbeing, balance and resilience.After a period of work related burn out in 2001 and 2002, Maria found a path to her own restoration during a solo journey along the West Coast of Ireland.She is dedicated to helping  others find their own balance, stillness and rediscovery through the healing power of Nature and Connection, natural silence and self care practices.

We have pleasure in welcoming you to this morning of slowing down whilst awakening your senses. ✨It starts with a guided sensory relaxation to help you step out of busy mind and awaken your senses.✨Followed by a series of invitations to help deepen your relation with both nature and yourself ✨ Sharing the experience with like minded othersThis is not a hike, nor is it a nature trail. Instead it can be described as a slow saunter in woodlands that awakens your senses. A great experience to increase feelings of overall wellbeing often described as having a sense of calm and stillness yet feeling alive.

Shinrin-yoku is a term that means "taking in the forest atmosphere" or "forest bathing." It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine.This practice is backed by scientific studies aswell as growing understanding of the power of nature.Study outcomes include reduction in levels of cortiso, the stress hormone, boosting immune system, production of NK cells, emphasis on engagement of parasympathetic nervous system aswell as balancing of blood pressures and reduction in anxious emotions. In fact after just 15 minutes of forest bathing blood pressure drops, stress levels are reduced and concentration and mental clarity improve.”

Our Forest Bathing groups run with a minimum of 4 participants.In the event of limited numbers, we will postpone the event to a later date - In this eventuality, you will be informed of this and given options of alternative dates, approx one week prior to the event.
