TWIC Spring Conference: Home and Away

TWIC is the Local Environmental Records Centre for south east and part of central Scotland that collects, collates and disseminates information about the wildlife in our area. The Centre is a not-for-profit company with charitable status and provides objective, independent wildlife information for people and organisations.TWIC is the focal point for biological recording in our area and is working to increase our knowledge of the land, freshwater and marine wildlife throughout our region. The Centre provides a wide range of data services; we routinely supply data to local authorities for screening planning applications, to consultants for preparing environmental assessments and to students and academics for research.The ongoing development of TWIC and its services is funded by grant aid from NatureScot, service level agreements with local authorities and income from contract work, projects and voluntary contributions.TWIC is a company registered in Scotland (No SC234339) and a registered Scottish Charity SC034113.

The Wildlife Information Centre

The Wildlife Information Centre's Spring Conference will include a series of talks around the theme of wildlife movements and migrations.

Due to extenuating circumstances we have sadly made the decision to postpone the Spring Conference.

The plan is currently to postpone until a Saturday in November 2022 with the same venue and theme. The date will be confirmed shortly.

For anyone who has already booked a ticket, we will be offering refunds (minus Eventbrite&#x27;s booking fee which is non-refundable) or we can carry forward your ticket to the November event.

We hope that you will be able to support our autumn event.--We are excited to be holding our first in-person conference since the pandemic! The Spring Conference will in fact be a hybrid event – with remote attendance via Zoom also an option for delegates. The Spring Conference theme is “Home and Away” and talks will be centred around wildlife movements and migrations, how we study and record them and implications for conservation. Delegates are welcome to promote their own recording initiative during the open mike session, or by providing a poster or display at conference. If either of these are of interest, please provide details on the registration form. Cost: Tickets cost £12.50 for in-person attendance or £7.50 for Zoom attendance. Eventbrite will also charge a small booking fee on top of the ticket cost.
