It is now one year since Confer Events, Confer &amp; Karnac Publishing, and the Karnac Bookshop moved to their new home in Spitalfields.Professor Brett Kahr and Jane Ryan will discuss the history of Confer-Karnac, and the shared vision of creating books and events that bring together and support the psychotherapeutic community. This session will include a chance to explore the new events space, browse the bookshop, meet some of the Confer –Karnac team and to share some coffee and cake! About your hosts:Brett Kahr has worked in the mental health profession for more than forty years. He is Senior Fellow at the Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology in London and Visiting Professor of Psychoanalysis and Mental Health at Regent’s University London. He is also Honorary Director of Research at Freud Museum London and Chair of the Scholars Committee of the British Psychoanalytic Council. Brett is Advisory Editor-in-Chief at Confer &amp; Karnac Publishing and Editor of The Freud Museum London Series. He has written fifteen books including <a href="https://www.karnacbooks.com/product/dangerous-lunatics-trauma-criminality-and-forensic-psychotherapy/95053/?MATCH=1" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dangerous Lunatics </a>(Confer Books, 2020) and<a href="https://www.karnacbooks.com/product/freuds-pandemics-surviving-global-war-spanish-flu-and-the-nazis/95752/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Freud's Pandemics </a>(Karnac Books, 2021) and has served as series editor for more than sixty additional titles.Jane Ryan trained as psychotherapist at the Centre for Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (CAPP). After 8 years in private practice she founded Confer as a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and to bridge the gap between schools of thought and professional communities in the field of psychotherapy. Jane is co-editor of <a href="https://www.karnacbooks.com/product/what-is-normal/95210/?MATCH=1" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">What is Normal?
