At the request of the King of Spiti, this story is about plastic pollution - so its not quite the 'Little Red Riding Hood' you might expect! Full of live music, audience engagement and colourful characters, this is a play written to inspire the love of a good story, and to bring people together for a fun and entertaining afternoon. It also highlights the world-wide problem of plastic pollution - especially in beautiful parts of the world where there is pressure from visitors as well as locals - a problem that unites Bournemouth and Spiti. THE YAK PACK WORKSHOPS - all ages / no unaccompanied children. Join us before the show 1-2pm for workshops with the Yak Pack! These are the same workshops we'll be running in schools and villages in India.You can join in with:1) Craft workshop where we'll be re-using scrap and collected litter to make props and characters ('Tipkins'!) to be used in the show. Your props will feature in the show and you'll be able to keep them afterwards too! 2) Have a part in the show! Get dressed up and learn your part and have a practice ready for the show - actors and dancers are needed. You'll also learn Himalayan Circle dancing. 3) Relax in the book corner where the youngest Yak Pack cast members will read and share their favourite childhood books - they'll be doing this with Spitian youngsters too. We're collecting books at this event to donate to children's libraries in Spiti! Everyone needs stories, and we want to encourage children to read for pleasure. Most Spitian children learn English at Primary school, so well written picture books with great illustrations will support this learning.Please refer to the guidelines/book list in the article.
