The Core

Visitors come from near and far to experience our unique attractions and sample our renowned food, drink and hospitality. But the pandemic has had a seriously detrimental effect on local businesses across these important sectors meaning many are now facing an uncertain future. The HITS initiative is designed to help change this.The Hospitality, Innovation Tourism and Supply (HITS) programme will support businesses in Northumberland, NewcastleGateshead and North Tyneside. We want to hear your views and ideas on how we can bring more innovation in our visitor offer, whether that is providing technology-based solutions, developing products or enhancing the skills of our workforce. To kick-off the programme we are inviting local business leaders to attend a consultative workshop in Newcastle on Monday June 20th, 2022. Lively, informative and inspirational, the session will explore ideas that can potentially make a real difference to your business and our region with match funding available for those taken forward.
