DYT Community: Sharing the small changes which make an impact

Driver Youth Trust are a national education charity with a mission to improve the life chances of learners with literacy difficulties and SEND. We provide professional development opportunities for teachers, TAs, SENCos and school leaders. Our current webinar menu has been developed by our team of consultant teachers, all of whom have backgrounds and expertise in teaching, inclusion, SEND and literacy.

Driver Youth Trust

Join the last DYT Community roundtable of the year as we share small changes in teaching practice that can have the biggest impact.

Which one small change in your teaching practice has had the most profound affect on your learners? It might be a resource, a switch-up in routine, or even just a turn of phrase which has unlocked creativity, focus or curiosity in your class.Join us on 13th June at 7pm for the last DYT Community roundtable of the school year. Run by Driver Youth Trust, the DYT Community is a space for educational professionals to come together to tackle the issues facing teachers, schools, and learners today, with a focus on SEND and literacy difficulties. In this term's roundtable, our Head of Innovation & Learning Kelly Challis will be joined by community member Angela Thompson, who recently published her PHD. Angela's work argues for a more joined-up, systemic view of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), which puts the child at the centre. We'll then break out into groups to share and discuss your 'small things' which have worked wonders in your classrooms, particularly for learners with literacy difficulties or SEND. Discussion points:

What could a more joined-up SEND system look like?

What one 'small change' have you found to have the biggest impact in your teaching practice?

What would you recommend for teachers or parents of learners with literacy difficulties/SEND?

About the session:

Date: 13th June 2022

Time: 7 - 8pm

This event is FREE!

Driver Youth Trust is an education charity on a mission to improve provision for learners with literacy difficulties and SEND.
