The mire at Ramscombe is one of Friends of Quantock&#x27;s conservation projects to protect the rare plants found in this habitat. The project was set up in 2020, you can read more about it <a href="https://friendsofquantock.com/news/post/ramscombe-wild-flower-conservation-project" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a> Join John Andrews, Friends of Quantock Chairman, for an hour or so looking at the plants of our Ramscombe mire. At this time of year, if the summer is not too dry, the flowers should be at their best. The mire holds about 90 different species, most of them dependent on wet conditions, some easy to identify, some not so! The walk is free to members and booking will be prioritised to members of Friends of Quantock until Friday 24th June, booking will then be open to all with a £5 on the day charge for non-members. All walkers must pre-book to secure their place.Places are very limited to ensure we protect this fragile habitat so please book early to avoid disappointment.Please wear footwear suitable for pludging about and bring a hand-lens if you have one. It is only a short easy walk from the car park at Crowcombe Park Gate but some of the ground may be uneven. In the case of adverse weather conditions please check here or on our social media (Friends of Quantock) before travelling to ensure the visit is still going ahead.
