Would you like to develop your skills in floral arrangement? Maybe to express yourself, your love for nature ? This is a flower arrangement workshop that becomes a source of inspiration for you to connect to nature in the house. We will consider some of the principles of Japanese Ikebana and reflect on our own relationship with plants. Then we shall select three stems to build our arrangement. Flower arrangement can be one of the most overlooked art forms, but is also the most democratic, it can be loaded with sexual politics, class and environmental issues. It uses all the senses, of tactility, scent, and vision to create an arrangement.This class is part of the exhibition: Quiet Growing Patterns, that sees a group of seven artists based in the Columbia Road area, exploring their relationships with nature and community. It has been initiated by Mark Aerial Waller and Hans Askheim, who live and work close to Columbia Road flower market.The work shown relates more to wildflowers than cut commercial flowers, it could be the decadence of flora, personal and political memory through the leaves, psychologically charged thrift shopping, or meditation through floral patterns. Certainly, there is a strong bond between us and our flower neighbours.CHILDREN UNDER 18 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT
