Being a conscious creative is essential in the future landscape of arts, entertainment and media no matter what type of story you choose to create. Many creative teams can make blunders or uninformed errors when seeking to welcome and create art for and/or featuring different identities to themselves and be unsure how to create caring environments to foster creativity. This panel series aims to equip creatives with tools to do just this.  These panels, developed by Meg McGrady (they/them), will offer a chance to hear practical knowledge from different communities and gain all the core knowledge and essential tools for creating diverse, accessible and accountable work. All of the panels will feature a mix of performers, directors, performers, and writers who can speak to the experience of working in theatre and offer practical and direct solutions. The first of these panels will consider trans identity, with future discussions hoping to consider disability, neurodivergence, queer identities, Black &amp; Asian identities, faith identities and creating care in general. Trans Identities  While the experience of transness can be explored under the queer and LGBTQ+ experience there is still a long way to go when it comes to barriers to access and representing the authentic trans experience in art without creatives resorting to harmful sterotypes and transphobia within stories.  The conversation will be chaired by Meg McGrady (they/them), with panellists expected to include Jessica Allen (She/Her), Amber Sinclair-Case (They/Them), Matt Powell (they/she/he), and will consider questions such as:What steps can be taken to make trans people feel welcome within rehearsal rooms and auditions whether they be performers, backstage workers or in creative teams? When have you felt most welcomed in a theatre setting and how can that be emulated or reproduced in theatre in the future? How do you think award ceremonies can better include nonbinary people? Do we abolish gendered categories or do we make specific categories for nonbinary performers/characters? What advice or steps would you offer to a cis writer who wants to include a trans character within a show they are writing?
