<h2>WHAT&#x27;S ON?</h2><h3>Negro púrpura | 82 min / 2021 / Galicia | <a href="https://vimeo.com/504879265" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Trailer</a></h3><a href="https://beginagainfilms.es/negro-purpura/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Negro púrpura </a> portrays twentieth-century Galicia via the Claviceps purpurea, a hallucinogenic fungus wich grows on grains and opens the door to a past that is equally curious, surprising and unknown as it important for the cultural and economic development Galicia has been through. Cockspur rye, ergot, cornezuelo, mother of rye, cockspur… this fungus of a thousand names connects us to the rest of the world and carries stories from our neighbours&#x27; doorsteps to multinational pharmaceutical companies and the CIA; from medieval plagues to folk medicine, to LSD. Scattered stories that leave behind a bitter taste of rye bread and reverberate across oceans. A crust that holds a delirious crumb.Direction and screenplay: Sabela Iglesias and Adriana P. Caruncho, cornecelo, dentón, cornello, grao de corvo… este fungo de mil nomes conéctanos co resto do mundo e alimenta os relatos dende a porta da veciña ata as multinacionais farmacéuticas e a CIA; dende as pragas medievais, pasando pola medicina popular, ata o LSD. Historias esparexidas que deixan un gusto amargo ao pan de centeo e que repercuten traspasados os océanos.
