Malaysian Medics International

The Malaysian Medical Summit is an event for all medical students and healthcare workers conducted by medical students.

Each year we expose our delegates to a variety of issues, presenting them from multiple perspectives to encourage keynote speeches, forum discussions, presentations and debates aiming to develop solutions. We now stand at the beginning of a new decade with a purpose in mind — to improve the system with the advent of technology as well as explore the uncommon or neglected issues or specialties. Whether it's the learning culture in our medical education or the issues regarding our training as junior doctors, there is ample room for improvement in every aspect.Who better to start the change than ourselves? Within this decade, all our delegates would have graduated to become doctors. We will be in the position to create a supportive learning environment and inspire our juniors in their clinical years. We will be in the position to be better advocates for the welfare of our patients, our colleagues and for the betterment of Malaysia's healthcare system. We will shun toxic cultures and harsh working environments as what has been highlighted in these recent few years. We want our delegates to come to the realisation that we have an immense potential in shaping the positive outcomes of this decade. We will be the change that we would like to see in medicine.MMS 2022 had explored the transcending different dimensions of medicine. It aimed to bridge what medicine was, is and will be by connecting the dots and filling in the gaping holes of our knowledge. In concomitance with the theme last year, “Bridging the Multiverse '', MMS 2022 will continue to explore the numerous prospects of various multidisciplinary approaches to medicine in this new epoch of mankind with the emergence of technologies and Internet of Things (IoT). Healthcare workers manage to provide a high standard of medical healthcare remotely that focuses on rural health and incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine. We will also continue exploring healthcare issues of the minority such as indigeneous people and women in which some of them are being discriminated against in getting access to medical care and their rights not being respected. In this new technological marvel decade, a new generation of healthcare professionals will define healthcare. They have big ambitions, big ideas and even bigger responsibilities to mould the positive landscape of our local healthcare system, without any forms of prejudice, toxic culture and unfair treatment.
