Freedom and Responsibility Exhibition Walkabout

Every year for the last 8 years our creative community have come together in June to celebrate Basha Uhuru. The 2020 edition of the Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival was a casualty of the pandemic.But this forced us to become tech-savvy and to evolve.The Basha Uhuru Creative Uprising is a hybrid event that will bring us back together, at Constitution Hill -through a full week of programming streamed live, showcasing, celebrating and nurturing creative talent. We will explore this talent through art, music, film, design, dance and poetry. Through the different support opportunities like masterclasses, workshops, showcases,  panels and plenaries, the Basha Uhuru Creative Uprising will challenge and inspire you to reimagine the way you create and have the potential to change the way you do business.The Creative Uprising is our response to support our creative community most affected by the current COVID-19 crisis with 6 days of inspirational workshops, enterprise support, networking, talks and other opportunities with creative innovators, business leaders, technologists and entrepreneurs.The Basha Uhuru Creative Uprising, birthed in 2020, will grow into an always on programme to support creatives  in 2021.

This proposed exhibition speaks to the idea of being aware of the physiological conditioning by our past.

<h3>The aim of this exhibition is to understand the problem and get to the root of the tree, instead of merely trimming the branches. However it is not that simple as this issue is a sensitive one and it would take seriousness and awareness to get to the depth of it and resolve it in a manner that encourages social cohesion. This exhibition also encourage young people to be conscious of the past and know the country’s history and heritage.</h3>
