Our North and East Bristol Enterprise Support service (NEBS), funded by Bristol City Council (BCC) and the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) is part of Universal Business Support. The exciting programme will be available until March 2023. The project will offer support for pre-start up, new and existing social enterprises as well as private businesses in a range of sectors through the Outset programme.At Outset, we know how inspiring the idea of working for yourself can be, but also that managing your own business can sometimes be daunting – that’s why we’re here! If you want to understand what marketing entails and what you need to consider to put together an effective marketing strategy, this workshop is for you!How you market your business determines if it will be successful or not. Marketing is the tool used to create and maintain demand, relevance, reputation, competition and more. Without it, you are missing an approach that could be vital to achieving your business goals.So, as we become ever more reliant on connecting with our customers online, never before has getting your marketing right been so important.Do you know who your target audience is and the best means to gain their attention? How are you going to make sure you don’t lose the attention of your existing customers? How are your competitors changing their strategies to meet new customer demands? In this workshop we will take you through the fundamentals in setting a marketing strategy to enable increased sales, brand development and business sustainability.Plus, do you know how to protect your brand and profit from the different types of intellectual property owned by your business? We will introduce you to this important but sometimes overlooked aspect of commercial enterprise which can help safeguard your products and services against competitors.This workshop will be jointly presented by BIPC and YTKO. YTKO will lead on marketing and BIPC on Intellectual Property.Please note this workshop is available to start-ups based in Bristol only. 

Booking is essential as places are limited to ensure maximum learning and benefit for each participant. Please ensure that if you are unable to attend the session, that you let us know so that we can move this place to another participant.

What is your refund policy?
Our events are free, but places are limited and events are usually oversubscribed. Please give two working days’ notice via email if you wish to cancel.
Can I attend if I'm not a member of the library?
Absolutely! Any Bristol based business or person with a business idea is welcome. Though we always recommend joining the library as it's free and will make accessing our databases, books and publications much easier.
