Spend a day on the dunes with us and learn all about this amazing habitat

Stevenston Dunes, Shore Road

Join us and our partners from Scottish Wildlife Trust Ayrshire for a 'Day on the Dunes' at Stevenston beach. Roll up your sleeves and help us with some fence and dune maintenance, guided by Scottish Wildlife Trust's Harry Richards. Following this, we will enjoy a guided walk and talk with marine ecologist, Robert Walsh. Robert will explain explaining the importance of the dune system and how it will assist with climate change (flooding, etc). There will also be species identification on the day and we will learn about the fauna and flora of this unique ecosystem. (We will also bring litter-picking equipment to use as we go) Please email Garnock.Connections@RSPB.ORG.UK for further information.IMPORTANT:

MEETING POINT: Shore Road Car Park, Stevenston

Postcode KA20 3LY

OS grid ref.NS 2667 4071

PLEASE WEAR SUITABLE CLOTHING AND STURDY WATERPROOF FOOTWEAR, consider using sunblock and bringing waterproof clothing.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WORK GLOVES WHERE POSSIBLE

CHILDREN ARE WELCOME TO JOIN BUT MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES

DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU ARE DISPLAYING ANY SYMPTOMS OF Covid-19
