A Wikithon focussed on the Reimagining Lincolnshire Project for Black History Month 2022.

Connected Heritage

As part of the National Lottery Heritage funded Digital Skills for Heritage initiative, Wikimedia UK is running a range of events to help heritage organisations share their knowledge online.

Members of Reimagining Lincolnshire and any interested parties are invited to attend this Wikithon, in honour of Black History Month 2022. Participants will learn Wikipedia basics and make their first edits, in collaboration with the University of Lincoln library. In addition, this event will allow you to see how a Wikithon is run, how it could work for your organisation and how you can best support the growth of open knowledge.We will support you by showing you how to set up a Wikipedia account and make edits, as well as create new articles and upload images. Suggested topics and articles will be available, and University of Lincoln librarians will be on hand to offer support with finding and selecting sources, but we do encourage participants who wish to come with their own ideas of what to work on.We will send supporting information and resources prior to the webinar.TIMETABLE<ul><ul><li>12.45 - 13.00: 	Zoom opens for 10am start</li><li>13.00 - 13.15: 	Introduction to Wikipedia</li><li>13.15 - 14.15: 	Training Session</li><li>14.15 - 14.30: 	Comfort break</li><li>14.30 - 14.40: 	Picking tasks for the session</li><li>14.40 - 16.30: 	Editing (with breaks at your discretion)</li><li>16.30 - 17.00: 	Sharing, discussion, next steps</li></ul></ul>This event is a part of Wikimedia UK's Connected Heritage project, which is funded by DCMS and The National Lottery through The Heritage Fund's Digital Skills for Heritage initiative.Spaces are capped for this event, but a waitlist has been enabled. We will monitor registrations closely and consider offering an additional event if the interest is there.
