Lochwinnoch Community Garden

Tales by the Loch Join local storyteller Anne Pitcher, on a journey through the tales of Lochwinnoch, along with her mischievous puppets, curious sound makers and sing along songs. Meet the magical Wee Lochwinnoch Bannock on its travels through time and change, encounter the legendary Water Kelpie, find out about Ringan Semple, the Warlock, hear tales about local birds – the clever wee wren, the one legged heron and other creatures. Then enjoy letting your imagination take flight and create your own story creatures or your own tale, to take home.About the ArtistAnne has lived for nearly 40 years in the former Police Station and jail in Kilbarchan. She is a professional oral storyteller on the Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland and Scottish Book Trust Directories. Anne believes passionately that oral storytelling connects uniquely to people’s lives – “Eye to eye, heart to heart, mind to mind”. Anne grew up hearing wonderful stories from her father, Jim Shanks. After many different careers – community artist, journalist, Public Relations Officer, childminder and latterly nursery teacher in Renfrewshire, Anne found the career of her heart – storytelling.
