There is no cure for curiosity.”Dorothy Parker​We would like to introduce you toThe Scarlett Society…a Brighton based  “club” for likeminded women.Our aim is to bring together the creative talents, the fun seekers, the inquisitive and the bright minds of Brighton and beyond together to share ideas, secrets, cocktails, inspirations and learn something new.We plan to inspire you through a series of events with brilliant women from the world of the journalism, books, art, wellness, fashion, gastronomy, music and culture.Tickets for each event will be limited in number and available on a first come first served basis. We will announce our events by newsletter so remember tosign up hereand keep an eye on our socials for up to the minute news.We are a not for profit organisation and any funds made through our events will be donated to local women’s charities.The Scarlett Society founders are -Lesley McNamee, proprietor of vintage emporium Retropolitan and Head of Paper Clips at Jalapeno Records, likes strange taxidermy & high end beauty products. Sam Smith, Director of The Outdoors Project, previous mother of bands, likes sun and wild swimming. Pandora George, founder of Bullet PR and Authentic PR, likes gin and Disco.

After a two-year hiatus The Scarlett Society are back! We are so excited to announce our first event for 2022. How To Break Up With Fast Fashion with journalist Lauren Bravo.You probably know the statistics: global clothing production has roughly doubled in just 15 years, and every year an estimated 300,000 tonnes of used clothing ends up in UK landfill.Fast fashion is the ultimate toxic relationship. It&#x27;s bad news for the planet, our brains and our bank balances. We can&#x27;t go on like this; our shopping habits need an overhaul.Journalist Lauren Bravo loves clothes more than anything, but she&#x27;s called time on her affair with fast fashion in search of a slower, saner way of dressing. And she has written a book which will help you do the same.Our Event - How To Break Up With Fast Fashion will help you to change your mindset, fall back in love with your wardrobe and embrace more sustainable ways of shopping - from the clothes swap to the charity shop. Full of refreshing honesty and realistic advice, Lauren will inspire you to repair, recycle and give your unloved items a new lease of life without sacrificing your style.Because fashion belongs to everyone, but no outfit should cost us the earth.Lauren Bravo writes about fashion, food, pop culture, feminist and life for Grazia, Refinery 29, Stylist, Time Out and The Guardian. Plus sustainable fashion on sale, clothes swap and more. And of course, there will be a bar!The night will be not-for-profit. Proceeds will be donated to women’s charities. This month we are raising money for the women’s charity UN Women which has established a fund to address the needs of Ukrainian women and girls, by working closely with women’s civil society organisations, the UN Resident Coordinator, and the UN Country Team to deliver aid on the ground.About Us:The Scarlett Society is a Brighton based ‘non-members club’ for likeminded women who want to learn something new, network and have a great night out. We inspire our members through a series of events with brilliant women from the world of books, art, wellness, fashion, music and culture.
