The Charity's object is to tackle child exploitation, in particular, but not exclusively, by promoting, enabling, supporting and developing the protection of children and young people who are affected by sexual exploitation.

NWG Exploitation Network

An understanding of modern slavery and human trafficking including why our children are vulnerable and often unable to disclose the abuse.

This course was designed at the request of foster carers and health professionals. It is intended to give participants an understanding of modern slavery and human trafficking including why our children are vulnerable and often unable to disclose the abuse. Professionals will be upskilled to recognise potential signs and indicators of modern slavery and human trafficking and feel confident in knowing how to respond. 

Aims &amp; Objectives. 

<ul><li>Understand Modern Slavery &amp; Human Trafficking as defined within the Modern Slavery Act 201 
</li></ul><ul><li>State the different types of exploitation within Modern Slavery 
</li></ul><ul><li>Explain the factors that make a child vulnerable to trafficking/modern slavery
</li></ul><ul><li>Describe the barriers that prevent children from knowing or disclosing when they are exploited 
</li></ul><ul><li>Know the signs &amp; indicators relating to exploitation 
</li></ul><ul><li>Understand the role/responsibilities of statutory agencies including foster carers, when it is suspected that a child is a potential victim of modern slavery/trafficking</li></ul>FAQs:<ul><li>How do I join?</li></ul>This event will take place on Microsoft Teams. The joining link will be sent to you through Eventbrite email so please do check your inbox or spam/junk folder for the link. Attendees will be permitted entry into the event around 5 minutes before it begins. <ul><li>What is the refund policy?</li></ul>Once a place is secured you may amend your delegate name without charge. You may cancel your booking up to one calendar month without charge. Any cancellations made within two weeks of the training date will incur a 50% charge. Any cancellations made within a week of the training will be liable for full payment. If we cancel the training for any reason, we will refund 100% of the fee, but will not be held liable for any travel or accommodation costs incurred. We always endeavour to reschedule a date as opposed to cancelling it.<ul><li>Is my registration/ticket transferrable?</li></ul>In the event you are unable to attend you may transfer your ticket to a colleague with prior permission from the NWG.Please note that a Gold member may only transfer to another Gold member and a non-member to a non-member.
