3D Connect: Don't Be Disappointed, Do Something

DON'T BE DISAPPOINTED, DO SOMETHING!

Ever been frustrated by something and thought "I could do this better?". Ever been told "You can't?". Ever thought "I'll show you - I'll make it happen?"

Well, you're not alone and our panel at our next session will share their 'Disappointments' that became 'Drivers' through their 'Determination' to make it happen.

What better place to host this event than the wonderful The Green Estate... an estate that was once described as 'The worst estate in Britain'! Well, now it hosts delegates from all over the world to showcase its transformation. It's a recipient of one of the King's first ever Awards for Sustainability and is Award-Winning in so many ways.

It's a real trailblazer of transformation, and even though we were there a few ago, there has been so much development since, we can assure you it's well worth another visit!

You'll also hear from Charlotte Elliot, CEO of Affinity 2020 CIC. Charlotte was a passionate, driven Head Teacher who worked nationally, including here in Sheffield, who was determined to make a difference. Having been frustrtated at a school with lots of needs that were not being met, she knew it should be, and could be, better. So she did it!

Through her own experience growing up with care-experienced young people, she knew them, she understood them, and she was driven to support them. Charlotte will take us through her amazing journey... it's different, it's inspiring, and it's working!

We now have our third speaker confirmed and are delighted to have Michael Jervis, CTO of Mattress Online joining us. Michael will tell us how two guys (incidentally both called Steve!) came together 20 plus years ago and created Mattress Online. One Steve had e-commerce and logistics experience, the other knew the bed industry very well.They'd both seen Argos delivering beds through their catalogue and collections service and spotted the gap / opportunity. And the rest is history!

Now stocking over 400 products, with 30 plus brands, 4 Yorkshire stores and almost 65 team members, they're winners of numerous awards and have received industry recognition.It's quite some story!
