Family Tech Sessions

MadLab Family Tech Sessions is a series of family-friendly events for aspiring young digital creatives aged 7+ and their parents – taking place this January and February at Stockport Museum.

This workshop explores how you can bring your imagination to life in 3D. Learn how to scan models and animate them: whether it’s a character, a scene, or a funky object. Perfect for anyone curious about digital art, animation or game design.Each session is 2 hours long. What you need to bringAll workshop equipment is provided.All children must be accompanied by an adult. Every booking automatically grants entry to an accompanying adult. Due to venue size, we ask that you don't bring more grown-ups so that everyone has plenty of room to create! CostThis event is free to attend. We charge a £3 booking fee, which is refunded after you attend the event. If you prefer, you can also leave it as a donation to MadLab CIC to support future community-led events. Refunds are processed within seven working days via our booking platform, Eventbrite.If you cannot afford a ticket, please email office@madlab.org.uk with your name and postcode, and we will be in touch. Additional informationLight refreshments and snacks will be provided.This workshop uses Tinkercad and Mixamo, free browser-based applications which you can download and use at home. About the workshop leadThis workshop is led by Lee Power. Lee is an experienced teacher who specialises in design and loves tinkering with new technology.
