My own writing/directing/facilitating continues to feed my work, but it is as awriters’ mentorthat I have found my niche.I currently mentor writers at Central School of Speech and Drama on the MA/MFA courses. I have been mentoring theatre students and also ex offenders and women at risk for both Clean Break and Synergy.This is the strongest, most valuable skill that I bring to this course. After reading/hearing participants work, I can see/hear what works well and what are the opportunities for development. These skills come from many years of working with some of our most talented and successful writers and artists,  observing them in the rehearsal room, interviewing them about their process and doing writing courses with them both as a facilitator/manager and as a participant. This has given me a huge range of skills that I bring to this course.I love introducing new ways to try things out, sharing work, giving feedback.Witnessing the development and refinement of the work and with it the confidence of participants, is very satisfying.

Do you have some experience as a writer but find yourself isolated and lacking in the motivation to keep writing? Have you written for other mediums and would like to explore writing for performance?Would you value the time and space to connect regularly with other writers in a stimulating, creative environment, witnessing their work and sharing yours in a safe space, where you will also be challenged to develop your work. Sessions will be both online and face to face.
