Cafodd symbol cylch yr haul ei fwyta a'i fetaboleiddio, yn gyntaf gan y Cristnogion cynnar, yna gan y fasnach dwristiaid. Bellach mae'r groes yn symbol ar grysau-t, mygiau a bagiau neges, yn symbol hawdd o'r dreftadaeth Geltaidd neu'n swfenîr o wyliau. Mae’r Big Shiny Cross yn edrych yn fodern, yn cyfosod y presennol a’r gorffennol, gan wneud pererindod o Faesgeirchen i ganol dinas Bangor, gan gyfeirio golau’r haul i fannau lle na fyddai’n mynd fel arall, sy’n atgoffa rhywun o domenni claddu yn ystod yr heuldro. Celtic crosses have been around since pre Christian times, orinally huge discs representing the sun and seasons, the sun disc symbol was consumed and metabolised, first by Early Christains, then by the tourist trade. Now the cross is a motif on t-shirts, mugs and tote bags, an easy symbol of Celtic heritage or a souvenir from staycations. The Big Shiny Cross has a contemporary façade, juxtaposing past and present, making a pilgrimage from Measgeirchen to Bangor City Centre, directing sunlight into spaces were there would be none, reminiscent of burial mounds on solstice.
