Poetry Open-Mic at Drawing Projects UK

Drawing Projects UK was created in 2009 to develop and promote research initiatives in drawing, including the Jerwood Drawing Prize project, now known as the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize. In 2015,a centre for drawing and contemporary art at Bridge House in Trowbridge, Wiltshire wasestablished and the remit of Drawing Projects UK expanded to form a drawing network and community through a range of complementary activities. With a project space, exhibition space, workspaces for artists, designers, creative and cultural enterprises, bookable meeting rooms and cafe, Drawing Projects UK is a unique creative and cultural hub, and is conveniently located adjacent to Trowbridge railway station.

Join in with the Trowbridge Poetry Society Stanza Open-Mic on Saturday 3 September from 2pm to 4pm at Drawing Projects UK by bringing a poem or two to read - or just come along to listen.A Poetry Society Stanza that meets at Drawing Projects UK, the Trowbridge Stanza was set up by Josephine Corcoran in 2016. Their next meeting is on Saturday, 3 September, from 2-4pm and is an Open-Mic. All are welcome to bring a poem or two to read at this friendly open-mic - or just come along to listen! As a Poetry Society Stanza, it is a poetry group run voluntarily by members of the Poetry Society. Although several of the group (including Josephine) belong to the Poetry Society, there is no obligation for anyone to join the Poetry Society. Everyone is welcome.The Trowbridge Stanza is a friendly inclusive group, a mixture of published and unpublished poets, getting back on our feet after a break of two years because of the global pandemic. In the past, we’ve read and talked about contemporary poetry, read and commented on each other’s work in progress, organised open-mic events and guest readers, and performed our work at different venues.
