A presentation on the history and challenges of caring for the gem of a Japanese-style garden that is The Garden House, Cottered.

This lecture will be presented by Dr Jill Raggett on Monday 5th December, 2022 at 2.30pm via Zoom.The Garden House, formerly Cheynes, at Cottered, Hertfordshire is registered with English Heritage making it an elite garden and is one of the finest historic examples of an early twentieth century Japanese garden in England.Dr Jill Raggett is a long-time member of the Japanese Garden Society and has studied historic Japanese-style gardens in Britain and Ireland for the last 40 years. She is an Emeritus Reader in Gardens and Designed Landscapes and is a tutor and assessor for the Royal Horticultural Society’s Master of Horticulture qualification. Jill is normally to be found in her garden trying out some experimental planting!Attendees will be sent a Zoom link 2 days prior to the start of the lecture, and again 2 hours before the lecture. A link to the recorded lecture (available for 1 week) will be sent shortly afterwards.
