Do you have a hobby which you would like to start making money on? Have you got an idea, product or prototype and you’re looking to explore starting a creative business but not sure where to start? This session will focus on all the fundamentals that you should think about when starting your creative business. The session will cover: <ul><li>Are you ready financially?</li><li>How do you think? - little quiz into their mindset</li><li>Legal structures - Sole Trader, Ltd etc.,</li><li>Registering with HMRC</li><li>Overview of IP covering the 4 areas Copyright, Trademark, Registered Design and Patent.</li></ul>---About the Practitioner: Jenny Wallwork is a Business and Information Specialist at the <a href="https://www.bl.uk/business-and-ip-centre/national-network" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Business &amp; IP Centre Liverpool City Region</a>. Jenny has over 20 years of experience working in an advisory role, helping individuals to reach their potential and businesses to start up and flourish. She is experienced in providing practical support around the fundamentals of starting up a business venture. About BIPC: Based at Liverpool Central Library, the Business &amp; IP Centre Liverpool delivers intellectual property advice and coaching sessions to support Liverpool SMEs from that first spark of inspiration to successfully launching and developing a business.

About the programme:This session is part of a programme of workshops designed to provide tailored support to artists, makers and creatives living in the Liverpool City Region. Devised by <a href="https://makecic.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Make CIC </a>and in partnership with <a href="https://www.baltic-creative.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Baltic Creative CIC</a>, each workshop is delivered in person by local expert practitioners who are able to share knowledge and valuable insight on each chosen topic.About Eligibility:This session is open to individuals living in the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, Wirral, St Helens, or Halton) only.This session is part of a wider project called <a href="https://makecic.org/enterprise-hub/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Enterprise Hub Skills </a>which is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF). In order to access this support for free, all attendees are required to prove their eligibility in line with ESF&#x27;s funding requirements. FAQsWhat are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?By Car: There is free, 2 hour, on street parking outside 49 Jamaica Street and in the surrounding area. By Train: The nearest Train Station to the venue is Liverpool Central Station and it&#x27;s a 15 minute walk away or you can pick up the 82 which drops you near the venue. By Bus: The venue is situated in the Baltic Triangle. All Bus routes can be found <a href="https://moovitapp.com/index/en-gb/public_transportation-Baltic_Triangle-North_West-site_22891003-2105" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</a>. By Bike or E-shooter: <a href="https://liverpool.gov.uk/parking-roads-and-travel/getting-around-liverpool/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">VOI Scooters </a>are regularly available at this venue and cycle lock stands are situated outside the venue. on Jamaica Street.Will refreshments be available?The venue (The Shed meeting space) is situated at 49 Jamaica Street, AKA 92 Degrees Coffee Shop. They have a variety of food and drink available. Water will be provided at this session. How accessible is the venue?The venue is fully accessible and is situated on the ground floor at 49 Jamaica Street. RegistrationAttendees will need to complete additional registration requirements for this session no later that 1 week before the event takes place.
