UGS Scholarships (PGT) Application Drop-in

The University Graduate School is dedicated to supporting University of Birmingham’s postgraduate researcher (PGR) community. Fostering cross-college, interdisciplinary communities and acting as a gateway to support and advice. We work closely with the other University support services to ensure our postgraduate researchers have access to a high quality experience.

<h2>The University Graduate School supports postgraduates at the University of Birmingham. We offer a variety of academic, social and wellbeing activities throughout the year. </h2><h2>We&#x27;re running events throughout Welcome for postgraduate taught students (PGT) and postgraduate researchers (PGR). This event is for PGTs - look out for our other events in our <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/pgt-welcome-2022-1125339?utm-campaign=social&amp;utm-content=creatorshare&amp;utm-medium=discovery&amp;utm-term=odclsxcollection&amp;utm-source=cp&amp;aff=escb" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PGT Welcome Collection</a>!</h2><h3>I﻿f you&#x27;re applying or thinking of applying to the University Graduate School&#x27;s UGS Scholars (PGT) scheme for 2022-23, come along to this friendly, informal drop-in to hear more about the scholarships, the Scholars&#x27; role, and to answer any questions you have about applying.</h3><h3>UGS Community Engagement Officer Elizabeth O&#x27;Connor, who leads the scholarship scheme, and a UGS Scholar from 2021-22 will be available to answer your questions.</h3><h3>We&#x27;ll be in Room 204 of University House, <a href="https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/Documents/university/edgbaston-campus-map.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">O3 on the campus map.</a></h3><h3>The UGS recruits ten PGT students each year to act as UGS Scholars (PGT), to support our postgraduate community until the end of August in return for a £1000 scholarship. Register as normal to receive all news and updates.</li><li>A﻿s this is an informal drop-in, you are welcome to come along any time between 1pm and 4pm on the day. Please be prepared to wait if we are already chatting to someome!</li><li>I﻿f you are a distance learner or can&#x27;t make this date and time, we welcome questions from prospective applicants via email. Unfortunately, we won&#x27;t be able to read or comment on application materials.</li></ul><p><strong>This event is open only to University of Birmingham postgraduate taught students (PGT)</strong>. </p><p>PGT programmes include: MA, MSc, MBA, MEd, LLM, MPH, Maths SKE, MPA, PG Affiliate, PG Certificate, PG Dip Ed, PG Diploma, and PGCE. </p><p>Any other questions, please contact Elizabeth O&#x27;Connor graduateschool@contacts.bham.ac.uk. </p><p>Registration will close 15 mins before the event start time or when tickets are sold out. We will be checking attendees against the Eventbrite registration and you may be refused entry if we have met capacity and you are not on the list. We have limited capacity so please cancel your ticket if you can no longer attend.</p>
