Leith for Ever have partnered with Tim Bell from Leith Walks to bring you a trainspotting walking tour of the shore!

Celebrating Leith Weekender

Explore Leith through a activities & tours exploring our history from a range of different viewpoints, from the highs and lows of the past, to social circumstances of the 1980's that inspired Trainspotting, to links with Europe, to our built environment.

Tickets for this tour are no longer available online. Any remaining places will be allocated on a first come first served basis from the Leith for Ever stall at Dock Place Market on the 18th September. Please visit the Leith for Ever stall to enquire about additional places on this tour. 

An afternoon tour will also be taking place at 3pm, this is only bookable on the 18th September at the Leith for Ever Stall.

Introduction to Trainspotting and riverside industriesAuthor of Leith Chooses, and experienced Tour Guide Tim Bell leads this fascinating Trainspotting themed tour of the shore. Starting at the benches opposite Cafe Truva, the tour will take in well known locations from Trainspotting, including the demolished Leith Central Station, ending opposite the Persevere Pub on Easter Road. Examining the Leith that inspired trainspotting by delving into the social and economic circumstances of the 1980&#x27;s that led to the area becoming one of the worst areas for heroin use in the UK. This tour is a must for Trainspotting fans and any one interested in social change. Due to the nature and themes portrayed in Trainspotting, content may be unsuitable for under 18&#x27;s. With informed consent under 18&#x27;s may attend only if accompanied by an adult.
