<h2>Biography: Patrick Candler</h2><p>Patrick has 30 years of local government experience at up to Director Level, working for City, District and County Councils in recreation, leisure, children’s play, arts, sports, libraries, country parks, green estate, community development, rural development.</p><p>He also has experience of the UK voluntary sector at national, regional and local level, including chairing two national charities.</p><h2></h2>

<h2>Biography: Lois Manfield</h2><h3>All things to all people – Current Issues for land management in the uplands</h3><p>Lois Mansfield is Professor of Upland Landscapes at the University of Cumbria where she leads the research Centre for National Parks &amp; Protected Areas amongst other roles. She has spent 25 years investigating upland agriculture and its place in wider landscapes and is still learning. </p><p>Lois sits on the boards of various organisations including Europarcs Atlantic Isles and the Lake District Partnership, the latter of which she chairs the Technical Advisory Group for the Lake District World Heritage Site. She has published a range of articles, chapters and monographs on upland management and is currently writing her next book which addresses the use of a multiple capitals approach to create resilience in upland farming systems and communities. </p>

<h2>Biography: Laura Dixon</h2><h3>A Land Use Framework for Devon</h3><p>Laura Dixon is a Project Manager at Devon Communities Together, working notably on the Devon land Use Framework and Flood and Coastal Resilience Innovation projects. She has a background in community development and education, having managed a variety of projects across the South West over the last 20 years. She has an interest in community and environmental issues and is passionate about living in Devon.</p>
