BBC 100th Anniversary gallery opening- Celebrating Innovation

The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC) is home to the world's largest collection of working historic computers.Follow the development of computing: from the Turing-Welchman Bombe and Colossus of the 1940s through the large systems and mainframes of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, to the rise of personal computing and the rise of mobile computing and the internet.Recognised as one of England’s top 100 ‘irreplaceable places’, we welcome corporate and group visits, schools and individuals from all over the world.We are normally open Tuesday to Friday 10:30 -17:00, Saturday & Sunday 10:30 – 17:00. Please check tickets for actual opening days and times.TNMOC operates independently of Bletchley Park Trust, although we are located on the Bletchley Park Estate.To visit us, go through the main Bletchley Park entrance, through the barrier, walk or drive bearing left beyond the main car parks, to our separate entrance located at the top of the Park.Visit their website here for more information.https://www.tnmoc.org/Sat Nav users: please use the postcode for the railway station MK3 6DS on Sherwood Drive and then follow signs. 100 Years of the BBC - Join us to explore & Celebrate

The National Museum of Computing

Join us on the 15th October 2022 to celebrate the BBC 100th Anniversary, you will be invited to explore decades of technology in our pop up galley.The BBC has inspired generations to explore the limitless possibilities of tomorrow&#x27;s Digital World through innovation and technology whilst staying connected. Our new, temporary exhibition journeys through history to showcase technological advances, events and achievements of the BBC since the 1920s. Speakers from the BBC, including Rory Cellan-Jones, provide personal insight into how these individuals overcame the challenges of technological innovation.Inspire future generations to see the opportunities possible within the challenge of what&#x27;s to come. <h2>Kids come FREE!</h2>What do kids today imagine would be seen on Tomorrow&#x27;s World if it was aired next week? In true Blue Peter fashion, kids are invited to create an A4 poster showing what current technology should be preserved in a time capsule and opened in 100 years. Predict how your chosen piece of technology will adapt to change the way we broadcast information and connect with others in in creating Tomorrow&#x27;s World today.All submissions will be showcased at the museum as part of our exhibition and online. Schedule for the Day: 10:30: Museum opens to the public 11:00: Refreshments served in the First generation Gallery11:00-11:30 Exhibition opening and Photos 11:30- 12:30 Visitors are invited to explore the new exhibition &amp;Museum and participate in hands on free stem activities as a family.12:30-13:15: Tea &amp; Cake or Lunch/Networking in the First Generation Gallery 13:20-14:00: Rory Cellan-Jones -Live Q&amp;A14:15-15:00 Former BBC producer David Allen- Live Q&amp;A 15:00-17:00: Visitors are invited to explore the Museum, engage in the free stem activities as a family which include: <ul><li>Micro:Bit coding workshops - musical gloves </li><li>Programming snake in BBC Basic challenge </li><li>Build an 8bit computer </li></ul>
