Meet the ALWAYs group: Lived experience in dementia research

A webinar introducing the work of the involvement group of people with dementia and carers who advise the IDEAL programme.

This is a free online event via Zoom. We will start at five past two (14:05) and end at five to (14:55) to allow people to get between different events. We are the<a href="https://www.idealproject.org.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> IDEAL dementia research programme</a>, and have our main base at the University of Exeter.In this fifth session of the IDEAL Webinar Series, we meet the ALWAYs group. ALWAYs stands for Action on Living Well: Asking You. The ALWAYs group form the IDEAL programme&#x27;s involvement group and advise on our research. They have also been directly involved with co-producing resources from the research, too. In this webinar, you&#x27;ll hear about why these experts by experience want to be involved in dementia research, and what has made this long-standing group - many of whom have been together since 2014! - so successful.In this session you will hear from:<ul><li>The ALWAYs Group, Allison, Chris, Keith and Jacqui all live with dementia, and David, Jane, Julia and Monica are all carers or former carers. Together, they are the ALWAYs group.</li><li>Rachael Litherland, Co-Director of Innovations in Dementia and PPIE Lead for the IDEAL programme.</li></ul>You&#x27;ll also have the opportunity to ask questions! We intend to have 30 minutes of presentation and 20 minutes of Q&amp;A.We will record the session to allow others to watch it afterwards. However, we will edit out questions if you don&#x27;t want to be seen. One survey will be sent out after the event after which we will delete your contact information.
