Together is an alliance of Scottish children's charities that works to improve the awareness, understanding and implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).We do this by:promoting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child;helping children's organisations to integrate the UNCRC into their work;monitoring and reporting on the progress made at a Scottish and UK level.Our growing membership is made up of a range of children's charities, from small local playgroups through to large international charities, alongside individuals, academics and professionals with an interest in children's rights

Help inform our next report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child!

<p>We are hosting a series of Zoom webinars to gather information from YOU on the state of children’s rights in Scotland. The information you share will help us write a report to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child.</p><p>Earlier this year, we shared a survey with children, young people and our members to find out some of the top issues. We have taken note of these themes and now we want to dig deeper to discover more information about them!</p><p>This webinar is on <strong>Children&#x27;s Right to Education.</strong></p><p>We will hear from an expert speaker on children&#x27;s education, Colin Morrison Co-Directors of Children&#x27;s Parliament, before moving into breakout rooms facilitated by specialist organisations. Through these breakout rooms, we are eager to hear experiences and case studies to help us write our report. Breakout topics include: </p><ul><li>Education reform;</li><li>Supporting children with Additional Support Needs;</li><li>Relationships, sexual health and parenting education;</li><li>Early learning and childcare.</li></ul><h3>How will you have an impact?</h3><p>Sharing your knowledge, evidence and case studies will help us write our report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. In doing so, our report will help the UN Committee understand the true state of children’s rights in Scotland as it gets ready to review the UK in May 2023. </p><p>You will also help the UN Committee decide what recommendations to make to the UK and Scottish Governments. In the past, these recommendations have influenced legislation and policy - for example, a 2016 UN recommendation helped bring about legislation on equal protection from assault.</p><h3>H﻿ow can you come prepared?</h3><p>Don&#x27;t worry, we won&#x27;t leave you unprepared for the breakout room discussions! We will send you some prompt questions in advance so you can come ready and raring to go! </p><h3>W﻿ho can join this webinar?</h3><p>Our webinars are open to both Together members and non-members. We will make every effort to make sure this space is safe and inclusive for all! </p><p>Please note, there is a limit of two places per organisation.
