October Books, founded in 1977 and now based on Portswood Road in Southampton, is a not-for-profit co-operative radical neighbourhood bookshop. Any money we make, is ploughed back into the business, if you attend one of our free entry events and would like to make a donation so we can do more, please do sohere.We trade independently from any political organisation, and seek to promote a fair and equal society. Our workers and volunteers are from many different backgrounds, and they bring diversity to the shop, so everyone feels at home in October Books.You canorder with us onlineorbrowse our stock. Or alternatively give us a ring, or drop in!As well as books, we also stock greeting cards, organic and fair-trade foods and green household items.

No prescribed reading material - share with us what *you* have been reading!

online - 7pm - free entryJoin us at our monthly social evening - come and say hello! All are welcome at this book club with a twist! We are asking you to BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) so we can share inspiration we have found between the pages. Those in attendance each get a chance to talk a little bit about a book they have been reading this month and what they’ve thought about it. There is no required reading, just a desire to talk about what you’ve been reading!What have you read during the month? Would you recommend it to others? Or was it better left on the shelf? We want to hear about it! What are you reading at the mo, and what has it meant to you? The session will run for 1hr max and we do look forward to seeing you there.
