The Great Escape Funding Briefing Session

The Manchester Partnership and the Cumbria Museums Consortium are delivering a programme of Museum Development for North West Museums up to March 2024.With the support of public funding from Arts Council England all Museum Development North West open workshops are free. Please help us keep them that way.If you have signed up to one of our events, but are no longer able to attend, we require you to inform us at least 48 hours before the scheduled event so that we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.MDNW funding stipulates that priority is to be given to those working and volunteering in non-national and non-NPO accredited museums or those officially working towards accreditation. If you work in a national museum, an NPO, a non-accredited museum or outside of the museum sector, your place may be reallocated if there is a waiting list of delegates from priority museums. MDNW will inform you by email before cancelling your ticket.If you haven't received the event joining instructions two days before the event, please check your junk mail as emails about events can often go there.

A session to support galleries, historic houses and museums to learn about The Great Escape and the grant funding available to support you.

About this event<a href="https://www.artfund.org/pages/the-great-escape" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Great Escape</a> is a major new participatory project from Art Fund that will engage children with the UK’s natural environment, drawing inspiration from the art and objects in museums and the creative and learning opportunities they can offer. It will bring schools and families into museum and gallery spaces as well as historic houses, inviting primary school children aged 7-11 to explore the animals in their collections and create stories and pictures that imagine a creature’s journey to a future habitat rich in biodiversity. The things they make in the classroom, online and in museums will be brought together in a collective work of art, unveiled during a weekend of activities for all ages on Earth Day 2023 (Saturday 22nd April).<a href="https://mduk.org.uk" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Museum Development England</a> is working in partnership with <a href="https://www.artfund.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Art Fund </a>to distribute grant funding to support publicly accessible museums, galleries, and historic houses to deliver activity as part of The Great Escape.T﻿his briefing session will support galleries, historic houses and museums to learn about:<ul><li>T﻿he Great Escape project</li><li>T﻿he funding available to support your participation in The Great Escape including eligibility, grants available, scheme dates etc.,</li><li>T﻿op tips to consider when writing your grant application</li></ul>Participants will also have the opportunity to ask their questions direct to the funder.W﻿ho should attend?S﻿taff or volunteers based at galleries, historic houses and museums in England interested in participating in The Great Escape.How will this session be delivered and what equipment do I need?This session will be delivered online using Zoom a cloud based video conferencing service. The service is free to use, all you need is either a laptop, tablet/ iPad or phone. Your device will need to be able to stream video and sound. If you are using a laptop you can simply connect via your web browser. If using a tablet/ iPad or phone you will need to download the app (free to download) to connect to the session. Full instructions on how to join the session will be issued direct to the email address provided at the point of booking before the session takes place.How do we use the data you supply us?The information you supply on booking will be used by Museum Development North, Museum Development England and Art Fund to send you joining instructions for the session and follow-up information.
