Speaking for Scotland’s Buildings since 1956, the AHSS is a national charity with over 1000 members and volunteers across Scotland. We use our voice to study, protect and celebrate Scotland’s wealth of historic buildings and environments.The AHSS is a Registered Scottish Charity (SC 007554 REG) and isa Company Limited by Guarantee ( SC356726).

<p>Geoff Bailey, of the Falkirk Local History Society, talks about the unique style of the provincial architect Matthew Steele who gave the town of Bo’ness near Falkirk much of its present character.  Working in the period 1910-1940, he adopted and adapted the latest designs and materials adding a Nordic twist to provide his own flavour.  Within this the range is wide.  His pioneering bespoke cinema is still a flagship project.</p><p>If you wish to join the AHSS at one of our lectures you will receive a £10 discount on your first year’s membership (£45 reduced to £35). Students get their first year of membership free; thereafter £25.</p>
