Drawing Projects UK was created in 2009 to develop and promote research initiatives in drawing, including the Jerwood Drawing Prize project, now known as the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize. In 2015, established and the remit of Drawing Projects UK expanded to form a drawing network and community through a range of complementary activities. With a project space, exhibition space, workspaces for artists, designers, creative and cultural enterprises, bookable meeting rooms and cafe, Drawing Projects UK is a unique creative and cultural hub, and is conveniently located adjacent to Trowbridge railway station.

Join this in-person Drawing Session with Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2022 exhibitor, Jeanette Barnes, and draw from the inspirational site of Trinity Buoy Wharf in London.Jeanette says of her drawing, included in the Trinity Buoy Wharf Working Drawing Award: Plans are vitally important to my process. I made many sketches at Leadenhall from different angles, viewpoints and with a range of intentions. This plan helps calculate the best use of information gathered. I write notations to retain my focus and discover connections that make the final large drawing inventive and imaginative.Jeanette Barnes (b.1961 Great Harwood, Lancashire) studied BA Fine Art Liverpool Polytechnic (1980-83); Post Graduate Fine Art Painting Royal Academy Schools (1984-87); and an MA in Printmaking Royal College of Art (1987-89). Selected recent group exhibitions include: Moving Cities, Anise Gallery, London (2022); Creative Debuts, Adidas Flagship, London (2022); Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize, London (2020). Selected solo exhibitions include: Urban Journeys, Felix &amp; Spear, London (2019); Diary Of A Site, Artist in Residence, Clifford Chance, Canary Wharf, London (2018); Metropolis, Felix &amp; Spear, London (2018). Recent prizes include: Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prizes, London (2019); Lynn Painter Stainers Award, Second Prize, Mall Galleries, London (2016); Hugh Casson Drawing Prize, Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, London (2013). She lives and works in London in the UK.Please bring a sketchbook and some drawing materials such as soft sketching pencils, graphite sticks and charcoal, pens, erasers, other materials. Some drawing materials will be available, but please bring items that you enjoy working with, wear sensible footwear and weather appropriate clothing.
