Drawing Projects UK was created in 2009 to develop and promote research initiatives in drawing, including the Jerwood Drawing Prize project, now known as the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize. In 2015,a centre for drawing and contemporary art at Bridge House in Trowbridge, Wiltshire wasestablished and the remit of Drawing Projects UK expanded to form a drawing network and community through a range of complementary activities. With a project space, exhibition space, workspaces for artists, designers, creative and cultural enterprises, bookable meeting rooms and cafe, Drawing Projects UK is a unique creative and cultural hub, and is conveniently located adjacent to Trowbridge railway station.

Please join us for the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2022 Drawing Discussion with M.Lohrum and Anita Taylor - held online on Tuesday 11 October at 6pm.Known as the UK’s most prestigious annual open exhibition for drawing, the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2022 received over 3,200 entries from 1,673 artists and drawing practitioners working in 45 countries. The Selection Panel, Lucy Byatt, Director of Hospitalfield, Danie Mellor, Artist, and Isabel Seligman, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Drawing at the British Museum shortlisted 113 drawings by 94 artists architects, designers, and makers, including 11 students.The exhibition is open to the public at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London from 29 September to 16 October, open daily from 12noon to 6pm, free entry. M.Lohrum's drawing, 6 Feet, is included in the exhibition and was perfomed live at the launch event on Wednesday 28 September. 6 Feet is a participative performative drawing that questions the notion of 'individual authorship', and the individualistic attitude that has a negative impact in societies, by emphasising collectivity and collaboration. Ten participants created a collaborative drawing by following these rules:- Draw as far as you can reach.- Drive the people next to you, but also let them drive you.The participant’s wrists were joined with wooden sticks, which emphasised the 6ft distance between them but also caused, like in society, the movements and decisions of each of them to affect the performance of all the others.M. Lohrum (b.1986 Tenerife, Spain) studied BA Fine Art at Universidad de La Laguna (2009-13); MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2015-17); and is currently studying for a PhD at Universidad de La Laguna (2018-23). Selected group exhibitions include: Complex Topography: Movement and Change, as part of the Setouchi Triennale, Ritsurin Garden, Japan (2016); Studio Complex programme, Tate Exchange, London, UK (2018); Field of Action: Performative Drawings and Paintings, The Canning Gallery, London (2022). Solo exhibitions include: Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, Santa Cruz de Tenerife (2019); Galería Manuel Ojeda, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (2021); The Stone Space Gallery, London (2022). Recent awards include: Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2020, First Prize; and Zealous Stories: Performance, Winner (2021). She lives and works in Tenerife in Spain and London in the UK.
