October Concert by London Youth String Orchestra including works by Debussy, Oliver Davis and Vaughan Williams

<p>London Youth String Orchestra presents an exciting programme of string orchestra favourites and new works. In Vaughan Williams&#x27; 150th birthday year we bring his two masterful works for strings and harp; &#x27;Dives and Lazarus&#x27; and &#x27;Fantasia on Greensleeves&#x27;. Welsh harpist, Aisha Palmer will also be performing Debussy &#x27;Danse Sacrée et Profane. The orchestra will also be playing two works for violin and strings by the British composer Oliver Davis. The first two movements of &#x27;Infinite Ocean&#x27;, composed for San Francisco Ballet in 2018 will be performed by 22 year-old, Tiago Soares Silva and 19 year-old, Nellie Whittam will perform the British premier of  &#x27;Lost Lake&#x27; composed by Oliver Davis in 2011. Hindemith&#x27;s &#x27;Trauermusik&#x27; will be performed in memory of Queen Elizabeth II by 21 year-old violist, Carys Barnes. At the end of the concert, LYSO will be joined by the players of London Children&#x27;s String Orchestra to perform &#x27;To Help&#x27; by Debbie Wiseman.</p>
