Introducing RWE’s innovation challenges for the 2023 Launch Academy

<h3>An invitation to offshore wind innovators</h3>This webinar will introduce companies to ORE Catapult&#x27;s Launch Academy and detail the challenges, set by RWE through its Sofia project. ORE Catapult established the Launch Academy to become a globally recognised transformative technology accelerator for the offshore wind sector. Its focus is on launching new technologies and services into the offshore wind market to enhance the UK supply chain; enable greater UK content and support performance improvements through innovation. This year RWE’s 1.4GW Sofia, now under construction, has partnered with ORE Catapult to support the latest cohort of this bespoke 9-month programme that is a unique offering for companies looking to further their innovation or break into the industry.Launch Academy applications close on Wednesday 30 November 2022.Experts from RWE&#x27;s Sofia project, together with the RWE Technical Innovation team, are asking entrants to submit applications for the 2023 Launch Academy in three key challenge areas:

<h3>A﻿reas of Interest</h3>•	Autonomous technologies for offshore wind: Use of autonomous vehicles including drones, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and integration of these technologies into the operations and maintenance of offshore wind farms•	Bird monitoring and protection: Technical solutions to measure and reduce ecological impact of wind farm construction and operation on birds•	Cables: Solutions for improved cable monitoring and protection to reduce failures, risk and costsTo find out more about the Launch Academy and about what RWE is looking for in these three key areas, please join us.Any a supply chain companies with innovations, ideas or new ways of looking at these three topics should be sure to dial in.
