The information will be particularly helpful for people who are eligible for a student loan and are planning to apply for university this year.Am I eligible for a student loan?Eligibility for a student loan depends on a number of factors, including your immigration status. There are different levels of finance and different eligibility criteria in the different nations of the UK. In general:<ul><li>If you have refugee status, humanitarian protection, indefinite leave to remain, or are in the UK on one of the Ukraine schemes, you are eligible for student finance on the same basis as a British citizen;</li><li>If you have discretionary or limited leave to remain, you may be eligible for student finance depending on where in the UK you are resident and how long you have been resident in the UK.</li><li>If you are seeking asylum, you are not eligible for a student loan.</li></ul>Whether you are eligible for student finance also depends on your university or college, your course, if you’ve studied a higher education course before, and your age. <a href="https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies?step-by-step-nav=18045f76-ac04-41b7-b147-5687d8fbb64a" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Read full details on the GOV.UK website</a>.Sign me up!
