Stand Up To Racism campaigns against racism and the far right. We have been organsing mass campaigning against fascist Tommy Robinson and far right UKIP's in the EU election - saying "Keep  Racism out of the elections". We challenge Islamophobia, institutional racism, the scapegoating of immigrants for austerity and the far right whenever they try and organise. Stand Up To Racism organises the annual march against racism coinciding with UN Anti-Racism Day in March in conjunction with the TUC.

But resistance is growing, with the biggest wave of strikes for years.The government wants to break our unity on the picket line. That’s why it is attempting to stir up racism and scapegoating with its ‘Rwanda Plan’ to offshore asylum seekers and its Nationality and Borders Act threatening the citizenship rights of up to 6 million people.They have denied the existence of institutional racism despite the disproportionate deaths amongst black workers and communities during the Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing examples such as the Child Q case and the recent police shooting of Chris Kaba. The racist rhetoric they use is in danger of opening the door for the Far Right, just as we’ve seen in Europe where the fascist Meloni and her Brothers of Italy have gone from nowhere to the centre of government and where the Swedish Democrats and the fascist Le Pen’s National Rally in France have made electoral breakthroughs. Trade unions are a crucial bulwark against attempts to divide and rule us. If we are to maintain unity within our movement we can’t allow working people to be divided.The conference will examine strategies to oppose racism in our workplaces, defend all working people from discrimination and scapegoating and oppose the growth of the racist and fascist right.
