Beginner Sewing Classes

These classes are aimed at complete beginners wanting to get started sewing & gain confidence before moving on to level 2 classes.

<h2>Sewing Machine Basics</h2>A complete beginners sewing class. Learn the basics of using a sewing machine - from threading it up to gaining confidence &amp; getting started stitching. We will cover:<ol><li>Threading the machine</li><li>Winding a spool correctly</li><li>What all the different stitches are for &amp; when to use them</li><li>Checking tension</li><li>How to sew in a straight line</li><li>Tips &amp; advice to give you confidence to start your 1st project</li><li>Certificate of completion to progress onto other classes</li></ol>These are small classes, maximum of 4, where you can learn in a supportive &amp; friendly environment.Don&#x27;t worry if you don&#x27;t have a machine, this is a great opportunity to use one in the studio, I can give you advice if you&#x27;re looking to buy a new machine. If you&#x27;re bringing your own machine, then don&#x27;t forget to bring all the bits &amp; bobs that came with it - pedal, power cable, instructions etc. If you need specs to thread the needle bring those too! *Please ensure that the machine is in a good working condition before bringing it to your class, I cannot troubleshoot a faulty machine, so don&#x27;t bring in aunty Mauds that&#x27;s been in the attic for 20 years!This is a great introduction if you want to progress onto any of the other courses &amp; workshops on offer, a fab gift for someone wanting to learn to sew or for someone who is getting a new machine as a gift for a birthday or Christmas.*Please note there are stairs going up to the studio &amp; the loos are downstairs. Ample free parking right outside, ideally located in the centre of Horbury. Tea &amp; coffee &amp; biscuits are provided plus fabric, thread &amp; basic sewing tools to sew any samples.Refund PolicyPayment in full is required at the time of your booking to secure your place. If you find you can’t attend 7 days or more before the start of your class you will receive a refund, less the EventBrite administration charge.
