As part of the public consultation on plans to transform the former Castle Market site with Levelling Up funds, Sheaf & Porter Rivers Trust and Friends of the Castle are running short 30 minute tours of the site, tracing its rich 900 year history and how they hope the Council’s plans could reveal and restore hidden ruins of the castle and open up the lost River Sheaf for enjoyment by wildlife and people and provide a focus for the regeneration of Castlegate. Plans will be exhibited at nearby Fronteer Gallery on Exchange St where you can also register your comments.
