<h2><strong>About this event</strong></h2><p>As a society, we are rushing forward at an alarming pace, and people want to advance on their own terms. We're all asking ourselves right now, "Why go back to the status quo?"</p><p>The pandemic forced each of us to consider what ought to be kept of the previous social contracts we lived by in the "Before" eras and what needs to be left behind.</p><p>While there is still much uncertainty around the pandemic and return to work, we have already seen what we believe to be fundamental changes to our pre-pandemic way of life. Whether it is a focus on improving the home as the default physical space or a focus on health and wellness after a period of health anxiety and deferring care, we are all emerging from the pandemic with new perspectives. </p><p>Despite its challenging origins, the New Social Contract will prove to be a net positive development as consumers focus on living with intention and support brands that reflect their values.</p>

<p>Amy Edmondson, professor of leadership and management at Harvard Business School and the most prominent academic researcher in this field, defines psychological safety as “the shared belief among team members that the team is safe for interpersonal risk-taking”.</p><p>In the simplest of terms, you feel psychologically safe in your team if you feel at ease with admitting to a mistake, pointing out a mistake made by a team member, speaking about work-related matters without censoring yourself and trying out new things.</p><p><strong>Think for a moment about your work and the work team you are a part of. Ask yourself the following questions:</strong></p><ul><li>D﻿o people feel comfortable in team meetings raising difficult issues or things they do not understand?</li><li>How often do people give and receive feedback? </li><li>Do colleagues generally try to maintain an image of perfect knowledge about work matters? </li><li>In team meetings, are all team members invited to contribute irrespective of their rank or job title?</li></ul><p></p>

<h2>🎯 Session goals:</h2><ul><li>Recognise the value of redefining Psychological Safety for the workplace</li><li>Learn how to implement a new social contract for the benefit of your co-workers, clients, and staff</li><li>Support your colleagues and employee’s mental wellbeing</li><li>Strengthen your authenticity in the workplace</li></ul>

<h2>🎭 Audience participation:</h2><ul><li>Connect with your peers and take on challenges together in small group discussions</li><li>Share what’s going on right now: wins and challenges </li><li>How safe am I to be my authentic self in the workplace? </li><li>How is my wellbeing being supported?</li><li>Followed by a whole group de-brief</li></ul>
