Woodland Wonders forest school provide forest school programmes for schools and communities, holiday activities, birthday parties and parent and child groups in the Chichester, West Sussex area."Leave only footprints and take only memories"We have a passion, deep respect and life long love of the outdoors and the natural world around us and through our work at Woodland Wonders we aim to teach and nurture children and all those that use our forest school our ethos and their own deep and lifelong love of the outdoors and the natural world.Our forest school experiences aim to provide the stepping stones for children to release their potential and learn in a holistic and nurturing environment. The Wild Space

Dates: 4 week programme, from the Thursday 19th January to Thursday 9th February 2023 inclusive, for 2 hours between 1pm - 3pm.Age range: Home educated children aged 4 to 11yrs and their parents or carers. We also run Wildings, a parent and child group in the morning for children under 5 yrs.What is the Wild Space?The W﻿ild Space is a family orientated group for home educated children aged 4 to 11yrs and their parents or carers, offering fun, explorative and skill developing sessions. Children can choose to learn new skills or develop existing ones. Tool work, fire lighting, campfire cooking, shelter building and bushcraft are on the agenda, or maybe sometime to explore, make new friends or just relax and connect with themselves and be at one with nature! Our sessions are inspired by the children for the children, using nature at its heart. With a relaxed learner led approach children can make choices about their time with us, their skill development, and learning opportunities following their own learning style. Otto the therapy dog will be supporting the sessions and is looking forward to making new hooman friends and helping the children settle in. He says his favourite things are playing, exploring and eating snacks, preferably not his own!These sessions are also a great opportunity for parents to come together, you can decide how involved you would like to be, participate in the activities offered or have a chat and coffee with like minded individuals. These sessions are as much for the adult as they are for the children (An adult is required to stay for the duration of the session).Sessions are run by a level 3 forest school leader, forest school assistant. Fully DBS certificated, first aid and safeguarding trained, and Otto the therapy dog, who is has heaps of enthusiasm and love to give!Price: Block booking: Complete 4 weeks: 1st child £46.50, siblings £38.50.One off session: 14.00 - 1st child and £12.00 - additional children. The Wild Space is a designated forest school area within the Graylingwell Park and is managed by the Chichester Community Development Trust. The Wild Space can only be reached by foot and parking is available nearby.Parking: Visitors can park at the Pavilion or around the edge of the park (you will need the Just Park App or can purchase a ticket in the cafe). Alternatively, a really good option is to park at the Rugby Club as it’s just as close to the Wild Space. What are the facilities: There is a hexagonal wooden shelter on site and a portable camping style toilet. The Pavilion cafe is near by and is a lovely place for people to meet before or after the session. There are also plenty of open spaces and seating around the park near the forest school site for people to use after the session ends, which are perfect for picnics in the warmer months.My child has food allergies: There is a section on the order form to complete with any food allergies. If you would like to discuss any food allergies or other requirements further please do get in touch.Cancellation and refund policy: If you are unable to attend due to any reason unfortunately we will not be able to offer a refund. If in the unfortunate event we are unable to run the session we will issue everyone with a full a refund or alternative date. Part refunds cannot be given if you are unable to attend a session for any reason. Places are non-transferable. What happens if the weather is bad? We will continue the session in most weathers and have use of on site permanent forest school shelter. If we need to cancel the session due to weather warnings we will offer everyone a credit note to use at a later session.Your information and how we use it: At time of booking we require some information about you and your child, for example allergies, alternative needs or special requirements, first aid, email and emergency contact phone number. This information is only kept for the duration of the course or event and your contact number will only be used by us in the event of an emergency arising with your child or if we need to contact attendees prior to the event to give extra information. If you consent for us to use your email to contact about future events, this will only be used by Woodland Wonders (we do not pass these details onto any other 3rd party) and will be used only to send details of other events run by Woodland Wonders that we think you may be interested in. If you consent for photos to be used, these will only be used for our Facebook page, website and promotional purposes only and are not passed onto anyone else.
